BDI-II Test: Free Beck Depression Inventory Online
The BDI-II (Beck Depression Inventory) is a short questionnaire that measures how strong depression symptoms have been over the past two weeks. It is one of the most widely used depression screens. You can take the free BDI-II test on LuriaLab and see your score right away.
The test has 21 questions. Each one covers a common symptom, such as sadness, guilt, sleep, appetite, energy, or loss of interest. You rate how you have felt from 0 to 3. Those scores add up to a total from 0 to 63. A higher number means more symptoms. It is not a diagnosis.
The BDI-II is longer than the PHQ-9, a 9-question screen often used in clinics. Both look at recent depression symptoms. The PHQ-9 is quicker. The BDI-II asks about a wider set of feelings and body changes. Many people take both when they want a fuller picture. Neither test replaces a visit with a doctor or therapist.
Use your score as a starting point. If the number is high, or if you feel hopeless or think about harming yourself, contact a qualified professional or local emergency services. LuriaLab’s BDI-II screening is educational only. It does not diagnose depression.
